The Orange Army stands strong — but we need a reason to cheer again.
Let’s face it—Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) recent performance has been disappointing. Despite having one of the most exciting squads on paper, we’ve failed to click as a unit. We’ve seen top-order collapses, inconsistent bowling, and sloppy fielding lead to losing four consecutive matches.

Currently, SRH is at the bottom of the chart, ranked ninth out of ten teams with just four points after seven matches. In comparison, previous IPL champions Mumbai Indians are just slightly better, with eight points after playing eight matches, ranking them sixth.
Today, when SRH takes on MI at their home turf in the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad, all eyes will be glued on SRH’s bowling line-up, which has not fared so well recently, and a vulnerability that Mumbai Indians might look to exploit in today’s match.
As fans, we’re not asking for miracles — we’re asking for fight, intent, and a team that plays with pride. With a strong batting lineup, that had made record scores and beat Mumbai Indians last year, another bounce back tonight is not ruled out.
An aggressive batting lineup of SRH, including Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen, could also shine today. However, there seem to be a few things going wrong for SRH that need immediate attention so that fans can again cheer for them.

Here’s where things seem to be going wrong:
1. Inconsistent Batting Core
The top order has been firing in patches. One day, it’s all sixes and fireworks. The next, it’s a collapse within the Powerplay. We need a settled top three, with clear roles. Give the players confidence and let them build partnerships. Panic mode doesn’t win titles.
2. Death Over Woes
SRH’s death bowling – once its hallmark – now looks flat. Yorkers are missing, variations are overused, and pressure handling is poor. Bowlers like Bhuvi and Natarajan need better support and smarter field settings. We’ve seen too many games slip away in the last four overs.
3. Fielding Fumbles & Low Energy
Dropped catches, misfields, and a lack of urgency – this isn’t the Orange Army we’re used to. Fielding reflects mindset, and right now, it seems off. We need the spark, the unity, and the fire that once made us the most disciplined side in the league.
4. Captaincy & Tactical Gaps
There have been questionable decisions – both in bowling changes and batting order. Leadership needs to be bold and adaptable, especially in crunch moments. The team needs to back its strengths instead of being reactive.
But let’s not forget – this team still has the potential to turn things around. Abhishek Sharma is a rising star. Heinrich Klaasen is a beast with the bat. With players like Aiden Markram, Bhuvi, and Marco Jansen, this squad can roar back into form.
What SRH needs now is belief. Belief in each other, in the process, and in the fans who bleed orange no matter the outcome. The season’s not over — but the time to fix things is now.
We’re still behind you, SRH. Still chanting. Still dreaming. But we’re calling on you – not just to show up, but to stand up.
So, dear Sunrisers… will you rise again?
Yours faithfully,
A fan who still believes the sun will shine again over Hyderabad.
